This and That Thursday: Nesting Gannets
Thousands and thousands, 24 thousand, gannets, plus other seabirds, appear through the fog as we approach the cliff edge high above the Atlantic Ocean. Yearly, these great birds, grand divers, nest in a tremendous colony at Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve along the southern coast of New Foundland (Canada). These birds spend much of the year at sea, coming to these familiar areas along the high northern coasts of the Atlantic to breed and raise their young. If you look closely at the photo, you will see some of the fuzzy baby chicks.
What does your nest look like? We like to decorate ours with photographs of beautiful locations and portraits of loved ones. To schedule a photo session or to purchase fine art, contact Crouse Photography today.
