Summer Side of Life
Summer lazes perpetually in some locales. The warm evenings still my mind, trading the calls of gulls for my knots of busy-ness. Last week I had the luxury of a quick trip to Florida to visit family and see some of its wondrous sites. Of course there was the requisite visit to the beach, which had to be done in the evening because the days are already too hot for comfort. We also visited a nursery where butterflies fed among the beauteous flowers. Between Florida and home, I saw an alligator crossing the road and numerous ibises along the Georgia coastal area. One thing that I re-learned on this trip: travel for photography does not have to be to far-flung exotic locations, nor do they have to be time-consuming (OK, that’s two things, right?). Another thing this trip reminds me is to be awed by the beauty of what I am photographing. Such beauty reminds me of the Creator and reinforces my connection to Him.
I need help identifying the orange flower shown in the slide show. If you know what kind of flower this is, please let us know.
