Month of Wednesdays
February began on Wednesday this year, and there were several Wednesdays in between January first and February first. One month, January, has been completed. Did you stick to your commitment to the 366 Photography Project? I did it; I took a photo every Wednesday and every other day of this past month, of this year so far. There were times when it was difficult for me to find a subject for the day’s photo. It’s funny how you can open drawers and closets looking for some appropriate subject to jump out at you, kind of like opening the refrigerator and hoping a tasty snack or meal will jump out at you while you stare blankly into it. I’ve been creatively surprised at some images after having scrounged around searching for the day’s photo subject and then having that image be something that I really, really like. The project was just the push, too, to act on some photo ideas that I’ve been meaning to get around to. I added textures and backgrounds to my personal photo stock. Some days were beyond easy to get that photo done. The hard part was choosing which one to use for my 366 Photography Project. Things that made it easy were things like the monthly photo contest of one of my camera clubs and photo-walks with others. There was just one night that I had to jump out of bed because I had forgotten to take a photo that day already. Some photos are outside my usual style, although I didn’t realize that I had a “usual” style previously. Having successfully completed one whole month of the 366 Photography Project, I look at my collection of images and realize that they seem rather eclectic. I am happy, though, with the efforts that I’ve made and seeing my 366 file grow.
I’m curious about your experiences. What have you liked and disliked, learned, improved upon while doing this project? Has it been easy? What’s been difficult about it for you? How successful have you been in taking a photograph every day? Please share your photos!
If you are not familiar with this project, please read my earlier post here.
